Review on 8MP 4K HD USB Webcam with Microphone for Computer, PC, Mac, Widescreen Laptop, Full Widescreen USB Webcams, Privacy Shutter, Tripod, Video Calling and Recording by Dan Quiceno

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not 4K; No autofocus but that's what I needed.

I chose this Looca webcam for one reason: its narrow field of view fills the image with my head, shoulders and some background. I prefer that for a video call. Most other webcams leave enough room in the frame for three or four people. The manual for this Looca webcam says 75 degrees field of view, but I think it's closer to 55 degrees. On the Logitech Brio I previously owned, you could select a 65 degree viewing angle. This webcam has a higher magnification than the Brio. This is NOT a 4K webcam; 1440p is the maximum video resolution I can get. It's 2K, but it's more than enough for video conferencing. The lens has a fixed focus, not autofocus. Sitting about 2 feet in front of the webcam, my face was out of focus and the wall and bookshelf behind me were perfectly in focus. But you can refocus the lens with a little effort. Following the advice of another reviewer, I removed the front of the webcam. Then I removed the shiny plastic ring that contained the protective glass lens. (The other reviewer didn't mention the ring.) This exposed a ribbed plastic focus ring that was held in place with a bead of glue. With tweezers I selected the glue. Now I rotated the ring to refocus the lens where my face would normally be. Finally I reassembled the webcam and everything was fine. Now people can read my face and not the titles of the books on the shelves behind me.
