Sports package XJ 2001.

I'm not sure I like this bracket though. I'll live with this for a while before deciding whether or not to keep it on my XJ. This bracket is centered and fits a 2000 or 2001 XJ as far as I know. It lost a few points for being advertised as fitting the XJ, which it will be, but only after you modify it. professionals. A secure mount that looks very strong and lasts a long time. Disadvantages. The two large main screw holes are too far apart and need to be extended inward about 1/16 inch for the screws to fit. !Fixing both of these issues takes a bit of work with a round file. The black rubber/polyethylene material on the back of the mount was not machined properly, causing the mount to not lay flat on the mounting plate. I removed this with a knife to making it flat but that shouldn't fix this manufacturing sloppiness. Daystar XJ extended rear fenders also had the same problem. The bracket comes with 4 standard nylon nuts but as the holes in the crossbar are too big it's a poor solution without washers, which I obviously find difficult to use here. They should have included large flanged nuts and I'll probably find them somewhere. I couldn't use the original flange nuts because the threads on this bracket are different. The pipe is very close to the cross member. I don't think it touches enough yet, but with use I could see that they might eventually touch, which is definitely not a good thing. it's good, but it also transmits a lot more noise and vibration into the cabin, especially at idle or in park. This is normal for a competition car but I'll have to wait and see if it bothers me as I also use my XJ as a daily driver. I wish someone would build a mount like this but with rubber instead of poly to make it a bit more forgiving to make, and with a 1/2 to 3/4 inch drop so the exhaust doesn't hit the crossbar. Most of the mounts currently available are a little flimsy and flimsy in my opinion, but this one seems to go too far in the other direction. To update. after a few miles I removed that bracket and returned to the heater. While I liked the tightness it placed in the drivetrain, the noise, vibration and harshness it created just wasn't worth it to me. As a result, virtually every interior paneling rattled or buzzed! To make matters worse, when inspecting the mount a few miles later, the bottom metal plate on the front bolt had separated from the rubber and there was a gap of about a quarter of an inch. All the weight of the gearbox was just on the back of the bracket. That's because it's a parallel-sided mount, but the transmission drops at an angle. The standard XJ has a slight angle that the stock bracket can easily handle. This mount effectively lowers the transmission by almost an inch compared to the stock, and if you also use the transmission choke on the lift kit it gets worse. This mount can't handle such an angle and the metal separates from the rubber. at least in my copy. All in all, I can't recommend this mount at all. Shame.
