I bought this so my cat could climb in the hammock by the window. The scraper is delivered disassembled, but once assembled it is easy to assemble and inspect. The base is really strong and heavy to keep it upright and prevent wobbling. My cat is only 8 pounds and the scratching post doesn't wobble at all when she climbs on it. It may wobble a little if a large cat weighs double digits, but probably not enough to deter a cat from using it. I was hoping to change the direction of the wave, but I can't. The posts are covered with sisal rope and the central shaft is also covered with sisal. Cats naturally love to scratch this material and my cat has used a higher post a few times. The body of the barrel has a seam at the bottom where the cat could lie and it seems it would be uncomfortable to lie on. I fixed this by putting both pads in and putting another Mylar pad on top. As you can see from the picture below, my cat found it very comfortable. Overall, this is a decent piece of cat furniture that offers scratching and roosting spots, as well as vertical space. It's durable and strong enough to last a while. I would buy it again without hesitation.
