My wife bought a salt and pepper mill in 1986 (almost 35 years ago). We use the pepper grinder daily, but the mechanism of the salt grinder is rusted, as there were only metal mechanisms back then. Now they have stainless material in the salt mill. I was about to buy my wife a new salt shaker, but then I saw that they have a "lifetime guarantee". I contacted the manufacturer and now we have a brand new salt mill for free. Durability aside, they serve well and continue to be used on a daily basis.
