I assumed there were 50 per pack as advertised. I'm using the first part right now (1.5 hours so far) for a hair treatment that needs my hair to stay damp to be effective. I have hair that reaches my waist and everything fits in, and I haven't had to straighten it at all (even when moving house, trying to put furniture together!). If you have towel dry/wet hair instead of wet there shouldn't be any leakage or other issues. And I was careful opening the cap, so do it and you don't have to worry about tearing it! I really appreciate the packaging, or lack thereof, as it doesn't take up much storage space and doesn't add any additional packaging waste (I throw the lid away after each use, so pretty wasteful). I plan to order them again if needed for hair treatments.
