I have arthritis in my hands and most of my old and favorite knives, including one with a bird's beak blade, are too narrow, short and difficult to understand. When I saw this knife I was sure that with less effort I would hold the contour handle more easily and so it turned out. feels "right” in my hand. The blade is extremely sharp and will slice through a bowl of apples and pears and then some potatoes. The bolster (my old knife didn't have one) keeps my hand from slipping near the blade and provides perfect balance! The price is amazing for the quality and utility of this knife.
