This protective cover is attached to my front seat. It doesn't go all the way back, but it works well since I have a heavy plastic trunk that covers the area where the back seat goes into the back of the car. The zippers on the corners are very nice as they keep the fur out of the way. I don't use the velcro on the sides to attach them to the sides of the car as I don't want to leave glue marks on the rear doors since that's how I started. So I dropped the sides that would normally close the sides of the back seat. I like that because it keeps the sides of the back seat free of fur and my husky doesn't stand on the doors anyway. So do not worry. I have this in a 2018 Jeep Latitude and am very happy with the fit. I haven't had any water stains so can't say much about water resistance but I'm pretty sure it is. It looks well made and I would go again.
