My husband had Clarks loafers that were used to death so I wanted to get him a spare to wear to work. They looked great, smart enough for an IT manager at work, but not so formal that they looked worn with regular use. In this respect they are ideal. Our ONLY complaint and I think it's partly my fault for not checking what the sole is made of. His earlier Clarks are clearly equipped with a durable rubber outsole that can even be worn on ice. They have crocodile leather soles. Luckily it's getting warmer now, no more snow or anything but they will still be questionable on a wet surface. Next time I buy a Clarks I'll check (because I'm buying) if the outsole is rubber.
