The larger the filter, the better the overall performance. evident when comparing the same filter only in 2 different capacities. I know RAM Hemi comes in two sizes and neither is the wrong size. one is standard and the other is advanced. Some say it's because of the 4x4's ground clearance, but if you've ever checked, that's nowhere near the cause. Typically, oil filters will last longer than the oil you use, even fully synthetic. There will be no cheap oil filters, and using crappy filter elements, which can fail over time and lead to rupture or bypass, won't work. Don't skimp on the filter to save $2-$3 when it could cost $1000 later.
