Cable causes RFI

I have purchased this product twice, once for a DVR on a Subaru Ascent and then again for a DVR on a Subaru Outback. There were no real instructions so I used a YouTube video to figure out how to ground the wire and where to run it. One of the initial problems with the second product was that the extra orange fuses were missing, so I had to use the extra fuse that came with the Outback. About a month later I found that one of the local radio stations was losing reception on both occasions. Cars. I thought it was something on the train station side until I went to another city and encountered a problem with reception at another train station which used to be strong. I eventually found that while the camera was connected to this cable, a noise was made, but it stopped when using the original cable that came with the camera. I'm betting on a badly shielded cable. The power cords of the original camera are significantly thicker than those of this product. The return window passed for the first, but I returned the second in time, using the original cable again. One day I might get a 12v adapter that plugs into the faucet fuse and just throw away the original cord, but right now I'm living with poor radio reception at the Ascent.
