I used this on a 102 inch whip antenna to turn it into a base antenna. The normal polished radials didn't fit me at all. However, this created more room for several 109 inch pieces of copper wire to be attached to create a better ground plane. My advice: ditch the standard ground wires that come with the kit and go to Home Depot and buy some copper wire that fits the holes and tighten it down. The SWR has been increased from 3.3 to 1.1 by adding 109 inch copper wires. All in all, a good product requires some work, but makes this setup easy for the average person.
