Revainrating 4 out of 5

So close to 5 stars.

Before you start wondering why I didn't give that 5 stars, let's get to the bottom of it quickly: PROS: Fantastic sound quality CONS: Some minor design flaws Were it not for the flaws mentioned below, they would be a six star mic of exceptional value. (Yes, I said six stars!) I looked at many mic reviews before deciding on this one. And every reviewer who has covered the MAONO AU-PM421 has been amazed by its quality. In my opinion, they are actually undersold. This mic excels in clarity and sounds as good as many of the professional studio mics we've used for comparison. But there are some design flaws - I think the manufacturer could fix them in the new version. And that's because most of the flaws are with the included mount, not so much with the mic itself. While the mount is of decent quality overall, the end piece that holds the shock (and therefore the mic) is a little flimsy. . You have to tighten it so tight that you're afraid of breaking it. Otherwise, the weight of the microphone will be too much and it will easily fall down. Also, the boost button is a bit harder to reach due to the shock-absorbing mount. This problem could have been solved by placing the boost button a little higher in the original design. Another little thing is that the mute button is VERY sensitive. Of course, that's great if you want to quickly mute your mic. But it's also easy to turn on the mic too easily, which can lead to embarrassment if you're not careful. But as said, the manufacturer could fix this in a new iteration of the mic, making it an easy task for everyone. looking for a good microphone.
