This is actually just the final element of the lever if you have play between the boot and the grip. Mine filled the gap and made the shifter much nicer. The only problem is that the duster has to go in the groove, but I have some kind of plastic insert so I just left it under the adapter. It still looks great and works just like the original nut for tightening the shift knob.
