Review on LG 32UL500-W Display - FreeSync Compatible 31.5" 4K UHD, Wall Mountable, 32UL500W, HD by William Barton

Good overall, but there were a few issues with the LCD panel

Overall a nice monitor. I liked the joystick controller for the OSD. But the big downside was the quality of the LCD panel used (the actual part of the screen). When I make the screen gray I may see some dead pixel areas. Even on a gray or white screen, you can easily see vertical bands of light and dark areas on the screen. It's just that the board isn't very good. Along with this monitor I bought a Philips 34 monitor. For comparison, it had no dead pixels (which I could see) and no light and dark stripes. In terms of quality, the Philips panel looked significantly better. To be honest, you might not notice any panel quality issues with normal use. I specifically had to use monochrome screens to see these issues. Another oddity. When you use this monitor with a Macintosh, the computer automatically loads a color profile that makes some colors appear extremely saturated and cartoonish. It does not have accurate colors out of the box (when used with a Mac). The color profile loaded was named after the monitor, so it was probably correct. This is easily fixed by choosing one of the other available color profiles.
