My dog is a large 150 lb 9 month old puppy Rotti and at an age where he is very determined I will do what I want. However, it works to help him understand what is right and wrong and to come when called. Tone means 'good boy' as well as positive pets and reinforcement, buzzer means 'come on' and static means it's not right, you have to stop. Because he's so tall he tends to ignore him until he's 13, 14 or 15, like I said, he's a very stubborn, determined boy. The noise doesn't hurt him, he doesn't make a sound, he knows it's time to stop what he's doing. Actually, I think it's more of an attitude, oh stop nagging me. I had another brand, it stayed and didn't stop getting better. I had everything I could do to get this collar off my dog so I bought this because it works with my phone.
