It would be better if it had multiple compartments, like a TV tray, so that parts taken from certain nodes can be connected together in groups. A flat bottom has all the iron bouncing onto the round ring magnets, and the aluminum, titanium, and plastic fasteners don't stick at all and slide into a mess, leaving you to figure out what went where when the bolts are slightly different lengths or head types . There are a dozen different sizes and types of mounts on my bike, while my last Toyota truck seemed well engineered to use the same size and type of mounts wherever possible to make the job easier. Fewer key changes and "Where did this go?” decisions = happy mechanic.
