With a new baby in the family, I wanted this to be able to have for use when my niece and her new baby visited. She has four other small children, and she is definitely going to need somewhere safe and soft to lay her littlest down. I wanted something portable that I could put away when she wasn't there and set back up easily when she visited. I was pleased with how easy it was to set up. That's always important with something that's supposed to be portable. I wouldn't call this truly portable, but it can easily be put away when not in use. The mattress is soft as well. So nice! My main problem is that it isn't waterproof, and when your relatives use cloth diapers, that matters a lot more than it might have normally. It is oversized, so it's a little more expensive to find sheets for it, but since it's only for use with my niece's child, for the most part, that's really a non-issue. The mattress not being waterproof is the most important feature that I found lacking. But overall, a nice bassinet!
