I use PVC pipe shading fabric, summer fabric and regular fabric and it works way better than anything I've tried. I'm in the Mojave desert so I have extreme heat and high winds - gusts of 50, 60, 70+ mph. Fabric holds up like nothing else - tried extra large fabric needle clamps, also tried metal pipe brackets which I have used to hold PVC Attaching tubes to the sides of wooden raised beds - these are cheap and only work in light winds (better with thicker shading cloth) but can't hold up when it gets to 20mph+. My PVC pipes are rectangular structures around raised beds, some with a trellis going up, the rest are pipes to hold the fabric. The tops are flat (so I don't use round hoops, they don't fit me). Also, I don't glue the PVC pipe so I can change the configuration at any time, so the pipe is attached to the wooden raised beds with a metal pipe (reinforcing bar) in the bottom and PVC pipe at the top. Everything is safe in the wind. But I also made some raised beds out of cement blocks so the PVC pipes are the metal bars (rebars) in the ground that the pipes sit on (so no attachment with pipe supports) and for them with other attempts the only support for the PVC pipes are connections. , gusts of wind have blown the tubes and fabric up and down but with these clips they hold the fabric up and down the sides of the beds and should make it a stronger support for the PVC tube frame as none of them have since been blown away like I started using these. I use heavier snaps for the top (leave them on if possible - they're super tight!) - and lighter EZ clips for the sides (none of which were blown away by the wind either) and bricks to hold the fabric to the bottom ( works great in strong winds then the fabric hangs in separate sections on each side and none of them go around the corner as I found it impossible to access (especially on a windy day!) so I only have to use the bottom stones at all times and remove the EZ side light clips and fold the fabric over the top and I have easy access to plants (or open it up for insect pollination), one side at a time or as many sides as I want.(Some only have fabric on 3 sides and top as a windbreak.) Finally, the desert squirrels in my backyard yard ate lunch as soon as they jumped the fence, and I've read that the fabric also protects against squirrels - even S summer weight. I couldn't believe it but I tried it and it works, no more rodents! Again, these clips hold everything in place with no holes or openings for small critters. I don't use as many as shown here, maybe one for every foot or 18 inches or so, but my tubes are all straight and the top is flat. Also, my package was missing a package - no big deal - contacted the company and they were great, they immediately apologized and sent me the missing package. Great product, great service.
