Review on High-Speed Steel (HSS) Planer Blades Set of 3 - Replacement for DEWALT DW7342 DW734 by POWERTEC 12801 by Brian Finley

This is an aftermarket replacement for DeWalt 734 Planer Blades and is less expensive than the original equipment. Above all, never touch the edges of these blades; They're damn sharp and can cause significant tissue damage without much encouragement. I have replaced several well used Original Equipment knives with these knives and have been very pleased with the improved performance of the planer. First I carved some old train cherries with a new set of knives and it was a delight. The surface of the wood has become "smooth as silk". (It was an old, variegated cherry.) I've only recently installed these blades, so I can't yet comment on their durability. They fit my car perfectly. I recommend putting some anti-seize compound on the locking screws when reinstalling. My bolts were very tight and hopefully adding some oil will make the process easier next time. I plan to get another set or two of these blades to have on hand when this set wears out. So far my comments have been unequivocally positive.
