These are good long shorts for an eight year old of average height. They're a great length, definitely not in the weird "no-zone" of being too long or too short, although they're on the longer side. The material seems pretty decent for a boy's shorts. I have all boys and am looking for quality clothes to pass on to my little brothers. I think they would be great for second hand. It's good enough to be school shorts or even summer shorts with a buttoned white church shirt. I like the lace, it's cute and original.
