If you're going from a crib to a toddler bed, I recommend you choose this bed. We chose this one because of the side rails on all sides. There are just enough holes for him to come out when he wants and not fall out when he's sleeping. My son tosses and turns a lot in his sleep and hasn't fallen out yet. He slept great in it. It took the first few nights to get him to stay in his bed before bed and not run around the room. I think it was a new found freedom to be able to hop on and off whenever he wants. Overall, I highly recommend this cot. It was also pretty easy to assemble. Only at the end did I have some difficulties when I attached the middle, because you have to insert screws from the side. But otherwise everything went well.
