I'm a music lover, hate MP3 and prefer vinyl. I recently started exploring the world of high-resolution digital audio and was recommended to me by another audio enthusiast. I can only say WOW! Sounds great in headphones and sounds great over a stereo system. I mostly listen to 24-bit/96kHz FLAC files and haven't been this excited about digital audio in a long time. Vinyl is still king, and when done right, it sounds better than its digital counterpart, but it's a good alternative. And no, you don't need a DAC capable of playing 24-bit/192kHz files. According to many people, this is just overkill and a waste of space. So don't worry that this USB DAC only supports up to 24bit/96kHz because that's all you'll ever need. IF you later want to browse DSD files, simply buy a portable media player that supports this format and run it on the Monoprice via Aux In.
