30 years later - my feet hurt - Shame on Me NB

If you decide to go that far, this is it the second time last year (2019-2020) I say DO NOT BUY these shoes NB; and I've been wearing NB for over 30 years. If you've read a few other negative reviews, a lot of what I say is consistent with those reviews/comments. Pretty much everything - width, comfort, durability, strength, leather quality - is missing... This review is for the 624 but I compare it to the 623 (also DO NOT BUY) and the 609 and claim a 4E feels like a 1 - 1.5 times smaller (i.e. these shoes are tight compared to them) and pretended they were leather; It seems they use synthetic leather and the shoes are not breathable. Also, where the shoe conforms to your toes as you walk, the upper cuts into my feet; it feels like the blunt edge of a plastic knife is cutting into my leg with every step. I bought these hoping they weren't made in the same factory as the 623 (Mexico), but the 624 is made in Indonesia and has the same sole pattern as my old 609; I don't buy 623 because the sole (heel) is simply worn out in about 4 months (read more...). The 609s were made in Indonesia and still have a bit of life after more than 4 years of regular use; albeit dirty, and now my work boot is in the yard. I suspect they switched factories in Indonesia and if not it looks like NB has lost any sense of quality control or care as the 609s have met every standard I've seen in NB shoes over the years have enjoyed. Now I need to find a new shoe (not NB) as they have ripped me off twice already ie why am I embarrassed and don't even want to think about what terms to use to fool me from NB for the third time to let.

Pros
  • IMEVA midsole (injected EVA foam) for durable yet flexible cushioning
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
