Review on BYEASY Adapter Universal External HD02 by Cesar Hubbard

after firmware update it works fine

UPDATE 03/24/2020 - Applied the updated firmware to both devices and now they work! Apparently the bug was that the device couldn't tell if it was connected to a USB 3.0 or 2 port. In fact, I was able to partially boot the Win 95 disk on two different computers! Even when booting into Win 10 and Linux I can now read all my drives through the USB 3 interface. Without their programmer/update app it's impossible to determine the firmware version of your device so I hope they use their update entire inventory before selling it. If you get an app that doesn't work, contact their tech department and they can email you the app and you can get it working in a day or two (they are based in China) . It's faster than returning and getting another device. First review: I've tried the adapter on Linux and Windows systems, plugged into a USB 3.0 and USB 2 port, with both SATA and IDE drives, and the OS never saw any drives. The only thing that worked were the red and blue LEDs. I have requested a replacement. I will update this report in a week after his arrival. UPDATE: February 20th, 2020 Replacement device arrived. He has the same problem! After some fumbling and fiddling I found that the USB 3.0 cable is the part where the communication is broken. It works well with USB 2.0/1.1 cable connected. This device has a unique USB port design. Do you remember the original end of the USB cable for the device? it was square with two rounded corners at the top. This USB 3 is similar, only it has an extra tab at the top to prevent it from being plugged into the USB 1 port. However, the original USB 1 cable can be connected to the device and to a computer. But it doesn't transfer at USB3 speeds that way.
