We set up little shelters for our horses when we camp with them and our one horse that likes to reach for the grass on the other side touched it and that was all it took to keep from touching it again to attempt. That's more than enough for small temporary installations, and the batteries have endured two three-day tours, and whether they'll be enough for the next one remains to be seen. It's also nice that it only uses 2 D batteries and is very small. worth your money.
