The device has a nice flame at the tip of a pencil, but is very finicky about adjusting the gas valve. This is because changing the position of a full bottle causes a similar overflow (pressure) condition. I think the hole is too big for the torch head. As my intended use for them (I bought 2) is in a fixed position I don't foresee a major problem. If you want to use for soldering plumbing fixtures I don't think this is the right solution for you as it requires a different torch/bottle angle. An overflow (pressure) condition often causes a blowout condition.
