I've had this encoder for 2 years, but I don't use it because there are better alternatives. It is impossible to perform high-quality video capture on it for a simple reason - a primitive, cheap chip, by definition, cannot encode with high quality. I tried both the "native" capture utility and more advanced programs - all the same, the device does not cope with complex video frames such as ripples on the water, foliage on panning, and in general, where there are a lot of non-static little things in the frame. Using the highest video bitrate values ​​does not help, because the chip itself does NOT cope with the task by 100% and produces a low-quality picture for encoding. Capricious about the length of the USB cable - I strongly recommend DO NOT USE USB EXTENSION CABLES, otherwise you will get a black screen with a green stripe or something like that. On the system unit, choose USB directly soldered to the motherboard without a cable, these are usually located at the back of the system unit. For flawless digitizing, I use an old DVD recorder with analog inputs. As an alternative - a TV tuner for the motherboard - you can still buy it used, it has analog inputs and a capture board, it encodes without artifacts. And this whistle is quite suitable for recording toys.
