When we saw this over the door storage we thought it would be a brilliant way for them to store and be able to see them without them filling the room and bed to the brim. This is an amazing storage device. There are support bars that hold the shape of each tier and the pockets are deep enough to securely hold multiple small or even large animals in place. It keeps LOTS of animals and the web means she can see and access everything when she needs it. The over door hooks are very nice, reliable and very strong, but they have an odd shape which means they don't fit all of our doors in the same way. We wanted to hang this unit on her bedroom door but it doesn't close with hooks. We've used other over-the-door hooks on similar shoe storage devices and they fit well, so it doesn't seem like this is an exceptionally close-to-the-top-of-the-door situation. I'm not exactly sure why the extra bend on those hooks doesn't work there, but it does prevent the door from closing. However, the hooks fit doors with lots of clearance at the top and work great on a panel of their closet doors, and the support posts mean that despite being a folding door, the unit remains stable when folded in and out. It's working great for us now that we figured out where to place it!
