Good for quick moving, especially if your hands are bigger than mine. I tried them when I was baking cookies. Halfway through emptying the second hot cookie pan, the mittens were hot, and I switched to a good old crocheted hot pan rack. Mittens are great for removing food from the oven, but don't rely on them to keep things hot for very long. They felt a bit big in my hands, but the grippy surface on them held the pan well. The design is cute and they tuck conveniently between the oven and the oven door handle. Update from 4 to 5: I tried this on a BBQ and it worked great. I've used them to directly shift and flip steaks. I could do the same with corn. Then I came up and used them to hold the corn while I peeled off the husk. They gripped the corn and made it easy to remove the husk and strings without burning your fingers.
