Without this item: a bunch of CDs and DVDs I've accumulated over 40 years, most of which I haven't heard of. With this product: I have yet to explore my entire collection, but the first CD I tried was great. This is Teresa James and The Rhythm Tramps Bonafide. I have many hearings ahead of me. There are many excellent DACs out there; I am delighted with this value for money. I'm happy with every aspect: packaging, shipping, features, performance, design. I had no idea a CD could sound so good! Hearing fatigue can be a thing of the past. It delivers a great soundstage without the digital artifacts I'm used to. Very low noise, such a wide dynamic range, clarity and freedom from phase distortion that I'm used to thanks to a CD player's anti-aliasing filtering.
