Review on πŸ”Œ Metra 70-1761 Toyota Radio Wiring Harness - Powering 4 Speakers for 87-Up Models by Johnny Chambers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfection is the adapter you MUST use with 1996-1997 Lexus LX450

. This adapter allows you to completely bypass the factory amp in your LX450. You MUST do this when installing a new stereo system. If you use the Metra 70-8112 receiver harness instead, you can reuse the factory OEM amp, yes, but it creates horrible feedback/howling noise from the alternator when the engine is running. I tried it for a week but it gave me a terrible headache from daily driving. Metra 70-1761 Radio Wiring Harness for Toyota 87-Up Power 4 speakers is the only way to choose LX450. However, you will need to create your own wiring harness to bypass the factory amp. It's not that hard to do, it just takes a little time. Add about 18-20 inches, route it behind the glove box and plug it into the connectors that the OEM amp being used uses. Pretty simple things. The oscillator howl/feedback noise also disappears. Search threads on IH8MUD specific to the LX450 if you need help. Good luck and don't make the same mistake I did. I had to disassemble everything twice because I originally bought the wrong adapter. Walk around the factory amp and thank me later. The oscillator howl/feedback noise also disappears. Search threads on IH8MUD specific to the LX450 if you need help.
