Not Impressed - Power & Electrical

Works at least, but I'm not impressed at all, particularly the optics. There is nothing reflective around the lamp to direct the light forward rather than heating up the back and sides of the lamp. Something cheap and simple like spray chrome painting will work but instead you will be wasting light and heat nowhere. The odd shape of the lens obviously has SOMETHING to do with it, but I can't tell you what. The cap doesn't emit light much differently than the cap that's removed. Waste of time. If that's really the case, and , maybe the light flooded out wider than without the lens I would love it The wires are soldered to the switch and they are so short you may not have enough wiggle room if you ever cut it and have to replace. I would prefer quick connectors so replacing the switch would be an easy job and only cost pennies. more. If I had to do it all over again, I would take: use a 12 volt LED light instead and just add a rocker switch. It should be about twice as bright and use 1/5 less power than this fixture (with the bulb on). At least for the interior lighting, I could put together something MUCH better and cheaper, with switches that can be ceiling mounted that double as an enclosure/project box, and efficient 12V LED lights. You don't need a full size suitcase. In addition, LEDs consume 1/10 of the electricity and amortize the purchase price in just a few weeks of use. Soldering skills aren't even required as a few crimp connectors will get the job done.
