Turned my Apple Hi-Fi into a state of the art sound system!

This device turned my outdated (but expensive) Apple Hi-Fi into a modern Bluetooth stereo! That's great. Luckily, I didn't experience the line hiss that several reviewers have complained about - the signal is clean, with no audible noise. I usually hear high frequencies that other people don't notice, so I'm sure. With Apple Hi-Fi, this device requires no battery and behaves exactly the way you want it to. It just works - no switches or anything. Just spontaneously pair and play. When it's not receiving sound from my phone, Hi-Fi is mute, actually turned off. In terms of price and functionality, I'm so happy that this unit has breathed new life into our $400 hi-fi system. However, I have a few complaints. 1. The volume controls on my phone (or other Bluetooth transmitter) are independent of the speaker volume; That means you should independently adjust your phone volume AND Hi-Fi volume in the right place. This is Apple's fault, not CoolStream's, but it's important to know. The sound quality also suffers noticeably. On a regular system I wouldn't notice a difference, but on Hi-Fi I can tell a directly connected device from the same lane via Bluetooth. You lose some clarity in the bass. The center etc. are perfectly fine and clean. Vocals, various instruments etc. are still perfectly separated, only the bass gets muddy. This can mean having to adjust two different volumes (HiFi and my phone) to find the right balance for better clarity, but I feel like something is missing in the Bluetooth audio stream. All in all it helped and seems pretty easy and reliable.

Pros
  • ADD BLUETOOTH to your wired headphones or stereo receivers by connecting them to the onboard AUX Duo jack.
Cons
