Over the decades with many aquariums I have tried many brands of heaters and every time the heater kept failing I have this brand with an "X" next to it. This list of failed heater brands is long, with only one brand ever failing: Aqueon Pro. They're more expensive, but they're the best. You pay a lot when you buy an Aqueon heater, so pay a little more when you buy to get the Aqueon Pro. The Aqueon Pro is more durable because it has an aluminum tube instead of the Aqueon Non-Pro glass tube. Glass tubes break because their rubber mounts melt on them, and glass tubes break when the temperature changes too quickly.
