Best of 4 3D glasses I compared to Revain

Hello! Thanks to Revain's free returns, I bought 4 different DLP Link Active 3D glasses. I just wanted to share my findings as they are definitely not the same! For reference, I tested it on a Monoprice 120-inch 4K UHD projection screen (White) placed about 9 feet from the screen. If you have a smaller screen or are sitting further away from it, the viewing angle might not matter much, see comments below. My projector is a Vava DLP Ultra Short Throw so this review should be relevant for any DLP projector with 3D. ------- --------------------------BoblovsThe best in my opinion are Boblovs ($40 for 2 packs): https://smile.amazon. com/gp/product/B07BMQ36DD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8& psc=1 They had the widest field of view, which was a big problem for the Apeman and Tourmei goggles. Basically, with Apeman & Tourmei, if you look at the center of the frame, you'll see that the dark areas around the edges turn green. This means that the active shutter was not operated at the periphery of the field of view. The Boblovs also had the ability to switch the polarity of the lenses, which is very important because Vava does not yet allow changing the polarity on the side of the projector. Since the nose bridge is very low on these Boblovs, it also fits my normal glasses, so it works quite well with it. ---------------------- -------- -------------UltraClear's UltraClear glasses were next: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KUIYUP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8& psc=1 In fact, they had a slightly wider field of view than the Boblovs and generally the highest image quality. However, they don't allow reversing the polarity and for some reason they use the wrong polarity by default which means I had to wear the glasses backwards! So it was a non-starter. If Vava ever allows you to switch polarity in software, this is what you will get.------------------------------ - -----Apemans & Tourmeis I finally tried Apeman & Toumei glasses: https://smile.amazon. com/gp/product/B07H9TZHZ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://smile.amazon .com /gp/product/B07PQFCGD1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Both suffered from the above mentioned issue with the poor field of vision. So I can't recommend them unless your screen is much smaller than 120 inches or you're sitting much farther away. ------------------------------ Final Thoughts All 4 of these items (and in general all active 3D systems I believe) suffered including incoherence in fast-moving scenes. This means that the 3D effect will stop working when something is moving fast, e.g. B. a character running towards you. You can google "active 3D glasses inconsistency" to learn more. If anyone has suggestions on how to minimize this, I'm listening carefully! Also, the brightness drops significantly with any 3D glasses and I would argue that even with a white screen the Vava still isn't bright enough to really render 3D. Anyhow, I hope this is helpful! Overall I liked the 3D and I think it's worth it as the glasses are quite cheap. It was very interesting to revisit Avatar in 3D. it's worth it as the glasses are quite cheap.
