Below are some tips to help you purchase the correct MMI interface if you have F30 and install the system. Get Dashboards2 Removal Tool. Identifying the MMI Interface Needed If you have an F30 like mine (BMW 328i 2013) another sign you need an NBT MMI interface is the CD/Multimedia on the main menu screen. BUT it doesn't guarantee it's NBT. The key indicator for me was 4 pin LVDS (CIC) or 6 pin LVDS (NBT). See picture for connection difference. For example, I sent a picture of a menu screen with a CD/Multimedia option from another supplier and received a CIC MMI interface kit that was not compatible and cost me $46 to ship back to China. I highly recommend, after looking for a video, to carefully remove the front vents and the sound/temperature controls.3. Room for the MMI interface My system controller filled up my center console under the air vents, leaving no room for a new MMI interface or additional cables. I recommend looking for a video that will help you carefully remove the glove box so that you can conveniently place the MMI interface along with additional wiring. See my photo.4. Audio I had to route and hide the AUX cable near and under the center section between the passenger and driver seats to the armrest.5. MICOnce everything is connected, make a test call and test Siri to see if you need to use the included MIC cable adapter. If you'd like, watch a video of how to thread the cable from the radio through the steering wheel and grommet and route it to the microphone above the driver's side. Follow the microphone connection points according to the illustration. Update: I wanted to update the firmware and saw online firmware updates for my model. I tried that and my system went black. I contacted the seller and they were very helpful in getting my system back even though it was my fault. I figured I would have to remove it and go back to the factory BMW stereo. What a lifesaver and wonderful support. For firmware updates, contact this vendor and follow their instructions. I now have a better interface that connects wirelessly to CarPlay faster than it originally did. happy customer
