Fun but not necessary, breaks easily

DISCLAIMER: Regardless of what model you buy, when you buy a KLEIN voltage tester it will work as long as it isn't your first time using it falls time. I don't mean from the stairs. I mean if it slips out of your hands, even if it becomes COMPLETELY unusable. It starts beeping at random times for no reason, the display flickers and a rattling noise is heard inside the device. I now have 3 small voltage testers of various models in my tool bag, and a no-frills, always-on, non-brand tester that I've dropped many times. Unbranded works well. Three little ones are now chirping like GD crickets in my tool bag. Useless. It's an interesting first try, but the remote laser only works at about 20 meters away. I thought he had a flashlight but he didn't. And apparently it can show false positives when the batteries are low. Fun 'til you drop, but not necessarily.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
