Mu's sons asked for a bedside table. I laughed and told the one on the bottom bunk that we still had to get to the bottom drawers. When trying to find something that might help, I first found fakes. I carefully went through review after review and found that they were all substandard and not quite 2" lip compatible since my kids' bunk bed was about 2". This product really saved sleep time! You can now have age appropriate coasters, I can still open the drawers below, and both have their own little space to put my various sleeping essentials! Get it right the first time. Don't buy a fake. The extra few bucks are worth the hassle or headache and they're really well made with solid construction!
