The ring light is an easy way to add beautiful lighting, as the shadows are soft and rounded at the edges and the highlights in the eyes have a distinctive round shape. I've tried some cheap ones and some expensive ones before, usually the cheap ones didn't give an even light and were too small, but this seems like a good mid-range model that is more than adequate. The included tripod is very sketchy, but still decent enough for a desktop. However, the phone holder upsets the balance and makes it difficult to hold without falling off. Personally, I was interested in trying this to improve webcam/vlog lighting without my usual 3-point LED light. The best part is that it's really just a light source and looks very flattering compared to other direct, sharp or side lights. It's also big enough (10 inches) to get good selfie results, but not too small to give off an even glow, and not too big to take up too much space. The USB port power is suitable for desk use as there are plenty of USB power ports available on my computer. However, if you want something more portable, no battery power options and a flimsy tripod that can fall off when used with your phone, it's worth it in any case, to consider it otherwise, when used correctly, the results are quite pleasing.
