Even better than Paul Reuben's Pink Palette Of Metallic Watercolors (some similar to Daniel Smith)

I'm a watercolor artist. I've used some of the best colors at a professional level. When I first started painting with watercolors, I made my own duochrome paints from color-changing pigments. Daniel Smith released a few of these that I liked, but then they weren't sold directly and I don't like buying them through other outlets. I stumbled across this palette and decided to give it a try after using several other metallic watercolor palettes. HOW IT WORKS If you're familiar with the Paul Reubens metal palette, it comes in a pink folding palette. The palette is wrapped in a pink microfiber cloth and packaged in a beautiful durable gift box color coordinated with the palette. There is a sample card for reference that you can refer to. It looks like a water version of this palette. It's almost identical to the Paul Reubens palette, except the entire box and palette is aqua instead of pink. The kit also includes a card with patterns that you can use when drawing. COLOR CHOICES I have to say I have many different types of duochrome or metallic watercolors. The color range in this palette is even better than the Paul Reubens palette of the same size. I like it a lot more than other palettes I've used. DUOCHROME? In fact, there are quite a few duochrome colors in this palette. Paul Reubens' palette is more of a shimmery mica color, not necessarily duochrome. However, there are various duochrome colors in this palette and I LOVE them. I would compare some of these colors to Daniel Smith interference colors or duochrome colors. SATURATION I found the color saturation and shimmer to be much stronger than the Paul Reubens palette. I'd say they were about half as pigmented so not only do you get a shimmer but you get a nice solid color base if you want. CHARACTERISTICS I love working with these colors. They're the closest thing to the Daniel Smith I've been using since Fine Tec, which isn't bad either, but they don't usually have as many duochromes. CONCLUSION I love the color choices and the amount of duochromes in this color palette. . They work well for washes or for pigmented color stains that also have shimmer. MY RATING IS FIVE STARS. I didn't think I would find anything more to my liking in the Paul Reubens category, but this one outshines the pink metallic palette. I use this one more than any other shimmer/metallic palette I have. If I want some shine on something, I use Paul Reubens. When I need more pigmented shine, I use this palette.
