Order arrived well packaged and on time. I wanted this product to serve as a pre-filter for my homemade filter for my 9" x 3" x 3" discus tank. The length of this product was 6 inches longer than I needed and I was concerned that if I cut it it would unravel. The first thing I noticed when I received it was how soft it felt and that the end (edge) I had to cut was open (especially not breaded) and when I rubbed it with my fingers there was no tangling. Then I worried if the water would flow through fast enough that there wouldn't be a backwater. I ran it under the faucet and the water ran through. It seemed unhindered. I cut the product and spread it on a thread that I use as a pre-filter (which I wash regularly). It acts as a mechanical filter, preventing particles from passing through, allowing water to pass through. When cleaning, the product is removed and sprayed from the underside. It works fantastic and is easy to clean. I will buy again and highly recommend.
