I was debating whether to spend the extra money on this or just mount the rail outside of the posts. I'm SO HAPPY I went with them. Absolutely worth the extra price. They allow you to install the rail BETWEEN the posts and not flush from the outside. Cleaner look, IMHO. And depending on your viewing angles, this may be necessary. They are made of high quality plastic that will never corrode or break. You would have a hard time breaking them if you tried. The screws that come with it are good too. They are easy to install and provide a VERY solid railing installation that will never fall apart. I would argue that they may actually be more secure than external rail mounts. However, you must cut the railing accurately. If you install black ballasts like I did, your railing installation will actually look nicer overall instead of being an eyesore. My wife and I are very happy with them and glad we spent the money on them.
