Review on Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Holiday Value Bundle with Kinect Sports: Season Two and Kinect Adventures by Brian Barnes

CAN'T BE HAPPY - THIS IS AN AMAZING DEAL IN SEVERAL WAYS!

Our son had finally reached an age where some of his favorite games on the iPad (like Minecraft) weren't that fun anymore and I was looking for more ways to have fun with him. He was having a blast with his cousin who was performing hip hop dancing on Thanksgiving this year so 9 years after the Xbox 360 gaming system was originally released we finally took the plunge and bought him this system as a birthday gift from Revain. The delivery was on time as usual and everything was in perfect condition. This is an "E" console with composite output and HDMI output (we used the latter). This is a 4GB module, so don't plan on downloading and saving a lot of games. Given our admittedly limited gaming habits, I don't see that as a major problem. However, the console has two USB slots, each capable of handling a 16GB flash drive (for a total of 32GB of additional storage). Since you can swap flash drives, you can store different games, profiles, etc. on it. The second longest step in setting up the device was pulling out my entertainment center and (re)plugging everything sensibly (cable management I think). The third longest part of setup was updating the console via Xbox Live (not a big deal - it should have been), and the longest part of setup was creating custom profiles for my son, wife, and I. You can customize everything from skin color and facial features to clothing (down to the shoes your avatar wears), so we spent a lot of time getting it right. In general, it took about 2 hours to build, but for the average person it can (or should) take a lot less time. Having done this, we have not looked back. Image quality for games is highly dependent on the game itself. Minecraft, for example, will always feel "blocky," but Gears of War was amazing. To "apples to apples" I put in some DVDs and the quality was very good (you need an Xbox One if you want to play Blu-ray movies). The bundle includes a wireless controller and two games (Kinect Sports: Season 2 and Forza Horizon), but we also have Star Wars Kinect Kinect Star Wars - Xbox 360 and Minecraft Minecraft - Xbox 360 and an optional wireless controller (available for $35 $ at the Toys-R-Us store) so that at least two people can play everything. so far in Star Wars. Kinect actually did a very good job of keeping up with our movements when both people were recognized (there is a slight lag which my wife [former athlete, dancer and model] noticed but not me). Only once did the Kinect just "turn off" for us, but that was after at least 3 hours of uninterrupted play. I've moved it and the Xbox console to a place where it has better ventilation and the problem hasn't recurred. All in all it's a fantastic gaming system, even if it's showing its age and its replacement is here. Although storage space is limited, I was aware of this and decided to spend the money on a Kinect device rather than a larger hard drive. Aside from the cheaper price of a Kinect console/system, another HUGE plus of waiting almost 10 years to buy one is that there are LOTS of used games that are EXTREMELY cheap right now (I've got the entire Gears of War series bought for $15). a local shop). game stop). Xbox was the star of his birthday party, I lost 3 pounds in a week with Kinect, family is having a great time and I am very happy with this purchase.
