Replace not only the evaporator tank
My 2005 Toyota Matrix had the Check Engine light on for 2 years. The store told me I had to replace the vaporizer canister, it cost me over £200 if I had bought it myself. I called the BS and checked the codes myself, they directed me to the flush valve and this thing is out in the open and it's logical it's going to die from salt spray. Replaced it and no more problems since. The old one didn't even take it off as the screws were very bad I connected the wires and screwed this one on.
