Bought a system to install in the basement cinema. At the time of installation the warranty had expired. The subwoofer didn't work! After troubleshooting and technical support, Harmon Kardon (HK) decided the warranty was still valid. I was very pleased about that. Their tech support sent me a prepaid label and I sent the broken subwoofer back. The instructions said to wait a week for a review after returning, which I did. I had to speak to them several times, it was about two weeks. Turns out they want the entire 5.1 system with a return label. As you know, this will take some effort because everything is attached to the walls and the package will be the size of a small coffin. Is it worth the effort? I can get a new powered subwoofer for $100 without having to wait and disassemble everything. I realize this is partly my fault, but Hong Kong customer service is overseas, so it's very difficult to understand. I just want a working subwoofer. After all, I wouldn't do it again. Too much hassle for the price.
