When researching different surround sound options at this price point, I found the HK set to be the most promising. I use a Sony 7.1 receiver to power my speakers. After a simple setup and a little calibration on the receiver, the speakers sound amazing. My dogs have also knocked one of the speakers off the stand a few times and it still sounds fantastic. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for amazing sound, great bass and a reasonable price.

I mainly use it for watching movies in my living room. I have a Yamaha receiver that offers a digital setup that puts all the speakers next to the TV instead of running cables everywhere. I'm very happy with the sound considering how much it costs. Quite comparable to much more expensive systems. I was looking for a smaller but full-fledged satellite speaker. They have both a tweeter and 2 midrange drivers. The receiver includes a microphone to balance the speakers. Very important

Better to have bolts to pierce to cover the holes for the anchors and have fun threading the wires through; very frustrating. IMPORTANT! This system does NOT come with extra long cables or connectors! We had everything ready to go, we packed up our old system only to find out we couldn't install it with what we got! There is also no receiver! We need to use our dish receiver which only has 4 plugs instead of the 5 required for these speakers. Most importantly, the sound is deep and rich. Very resonant. It comes with color-coded cables for easy installation. I set up a 14' x 12' room and the cables that came with it were long enough. Definitely fits in a large room. My disappointment was in the mounts. First, the wire comes out of the same hole as the mounting screw, and there is a gap inside for the wire, so the screw keeps slipping into the gap instead of going into the correct hole.
