I bought this scale to replace a Martha Stewart scale I bought at Macy's ten (or more) years ago. Pros: * Aesthetically pleasing design * Easy to clean/wipe (no weird crevices that are hard to reach) * No visible markings - it's already hard to find * It's a simple rectangle making it easy to put it on the page to store, and it's slim, which means it doesn't take up much space * Easy to use and read * That's right - I poured and leveled about 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of baking flour, which according to my recipes would weigh 133g, and it was exactly right. I also compared the readings to other scales I have and they showed the same thing. * Requires standard size batteries * Comes with batteries * No protruding buttons to erase text (it has touch buttons and the text is under glass) * Great price * Reliable * It has a two minute auto shut off when there is no activity. This also works when there is something on the scale - as long as there is no new movement.* This allows you to see the weight in several units. (My last scale only had two options.) Cons: * When I first clicked "Tare" I thought it didn't work because it didn't change immediately. I'm used to an instant response, but it turns out there's a slight delay between pressing and responding to the tare button on these scales. Inserting new batteries had no effect.* Wiping or otherwise handling the device is all too easy to turn the device on and off unintentionally. For example, when I turned it forward to reveal the battery compartment (being careful not to touch any of the buttons), it turned on when the power button touched the tabletop. I think it would make sense if these buttons needed some heat to work. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase.
