Like many others, I just love this pepper mill. and quickly becomes a frustrating experience of lots of work for little pay, much like those skinny crab legs so often found in Chinese buffet restaurants. I gave up wooden models due to reports of cracks and splits. although I would have preferred wood to stainless steel. But it doesn't disappoint. I suspect stainless steel can hold more peppers due to wood strength limitations. Rotate the bottom. Easy to fill, easy to turn, easy to adjust. The spindle of the central mechanism no longer dangles and then tries to center itself when filling: it is fixed! Seriously, the way it's supposed to form function. Let's face it, most salt/pepper dispensers are usually chosen for their looks, not their functionality. This device offers the added benefit of a classic shape combined with the durability of stainless steel. If you're reading any of these comments, you're just as tired as I am of the same old stuff.
