We have a very delicate three year old so I think it will be good for her. For a "rougher" child, this would not be enough. The stitching is starting to unravel (we just installed it yesterday) and the corners are NOT as "straight" as the pictures would suggest. The tent doors also don't touch in the middle, which seems to be an issue for a three-year-old wanting to nap with her cat.
