They are thin and very comfortable for children. It's amazing what ice can do for scratches and dents. Plus they are so cute and the kids just love them. I especially like them because they freeze very quickly and are easy to hold with small hands. I wrap them in kitchen paper and when they come back I put them back in the freezer and they're ready in an hour.

This is a great ice pack for my girls lunch boxes. This is a standard clay barn lunch box perfect for package, sandwich, yogurt, fruit juice and other juice box snack. Disappointed that the very cute penguin cold packs have an unpleasant toxic chemical smell. This product didn't seem to make me nauseous, but the neoprene lunch bag that came in the same box made me nauseous. The smell of a very nice lunch bag was so strong we had to take it outside. One gives my daughter to put in an insulated preschool lunch bag and keeps food cold/cool until lunch at 11:30am. She says the penguin will still be "pretty cold" until then, so I'm assuming it'll stay cool for a pack until at least 1 p.m. My guess is that two or more penguins obviously stay cold/cool longer. A big bonus is that they don't take up space so their containers fit properly and no longer zip tight like other bulkier freezer bags. I would buy again and highly recommend.
